My advice , switch back to a frigate or destroyer and do more lv1 mission until you can fly a cruiser properly.
Skills to start off with:
Navigation - 3 (more speed) Afterburner - 3 (AB) Warp Drive Operation - 3 (more cap) Acceleration Control - 3 (more speed) Fuel Conservation - 3 (more cap) Energy Management - 3 (more cap) Energy Systems Operation - 3 (more cap) Engineering - 3 (more powergrid) Mechanic - 3 (more HP) Hull Upgrades - 3 (more HP, more resist) Repair Systems - 3 (more tank) Gunnery - 3 (more dmg) Medium Hybrids - 3 (more dmg) Drones - 5 (more drones) Light Scout Drone - 3 (more drone range) Drone Interfacing - 3 (A LOT more drone dmg) Electronics - 3 (more CPU) Targeting - 3 Signature Analysis - 3 (faster locking) Long Range Targeting - 3 (more range) Cruiser - 4 (more dmg)
That should be the minimum to have to start thinking about a Vexor, and outfit it properly.
Then use the Vexor for lv2 missions. Meanwhile train all those skills to lv4 Also add next: - More drone skills (drone nav, drone durabiity, Combat drone op , heavy drones) - More Armor Tank skills (armor compensation skills) - More Gunnery skills (Controlled bursts, sharpshooting, motion predict , rapid fire etc) - Battlecruisers lv4
When you have all that , upgrade to the Myrmiddon battlecruiser, the Vexor's bigger brother and start doing lv3 missions.
As for Vexor fitting: High slots: 200mm / 250mm Railguns (tungsten ammo) (40-50km range), Drone Link Augmentor (+20 km range on drones) Med slots: Afterburner, Sensor Booster and either Web or Target Painter Low Slots: Medium Armor rep (Tech II), Dmg Control and either Energized Plating / Hardeners for better resists or 2x Overdrive Injectors and stay the heck out of range and pop everything from a distance while they cannot hit you back.
Don't bother wasting perfectly good slots on Salvagers and Tractor Beams. Instead , bookmark a wreck in the mission area and come back after you turn the mission in flying a Catalyst destroyer. Skills: - Salvaging 4 - Science 4 Fitting: - 5 Salvagers , 3 Tractor Beams, 3 Expanded Cargohold And clean up the place like a giant vacuum cleaner , quickly and effortlesly.
When all that is out of the way , train all the afformentioned skills to level 5 along with: - Battleship lv5 - Energy Emission Systems lv5 (Heavy Nosferatu II) - Large Hybrid lv5
And either go for the Dominix to become a PvP god, or a rigged Hyperion for lv4 missions.
Other drone using ships you might become interested in: - Ishkur (assault frigate) - Ishtar (heavy assault cruiser, the tech II Vexor)
Optional Crosstraining for PvP: - Amarr Cruiser lv5 - Cloaking lv4 - Recons lv4 This is for the Vexor's sibling , the Amarr Arbitrator Cruiser, a drone using electronic warfare variant. Wich is a step-up to the nasty cloaked Drone/NOS/EW Recon ship called the Curse.
From there it's only one small step away (provided you have hunderds of millions of ISK for the skillbooks) to jump into Carriers and Dreadnaughts with Fighter Drones (Thanatos, Moros) and dabble with 0.0 space alliance warfare or the new upcoming lv5 missions in the next expansion.
This advice was brought to you by a drone loving nutter , mission dabbler and alliance veteran, who believe Drone ships are the best thing to happen since the invention of sliced bread.
